That is very true, there aren't many things as degenerative as idleness, a point so finely illustrated by blacks in the US. In the 40s and 50s they formed a functional, respectable community. Then since the 60s with affirmative action and later the expanding welfare benefits, they lost incentive for honest work and degenerated extremely fast into the absolute mess they are now.
In the 50s black women had higher marriage rates than white women. Now 85% of black children are born out of wedlock. That's what happens when people have money to spend from welfare (and more kids, more money), while not having to put in the work for it. US blacks are now the most privileged members of their race to ever walk the earth, but compared to their grandparents and great-grandparents, they one big Jeb Bush.
